On Tuesday, May 3, 2016, Governors of the Progressive Governors Forum paid a condolence visit to the Governor of Enugu State, H.E. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi over the Fulani herdsmen attack at the Nimbo Community in Uzo Uwani Local Government Area of the state in which scores of people were killed.
The purpose of the visit was to show support and empathise with their colleague, the governor, the people of the embattled community and Local Government; as well as the entire people of Enugu State; as was stated by Gov. Rochas Okorocha that in such “situation, we must put aside our religious and political differences and come together in the interest of the unity of this country.’’
On the forum’s visiting train were; Deputy Governor of Yobe State, Abubakar D Aliyu, Governor of Jigawa State, Badaru Abubakar, Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, Chairman of Northern Governors Forum and Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima and Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Simeon Achuba.
